  1. Installing packages on Ubuntu requires administrative privileges. Ok, my favorite internet browser is Google Chrome, I use it as my default browser in Windows 7. Switching from Windows 7 to Ubuntu, of course I install back Google Chrome; sync to my email account, I get all my bookmark, and extension same as what I have in Windows 7's Google Chrome.

Before you install the 64-bit version, make sure you remove the 32-bit version of Google Chrome, or the Ubuntu Software Center will warn that the 64-bit installation cannot be completed because there is conflicts with the older Google Chrome (32-bit). (Print Screen of Google Chrome on my Ubuntu, Version is 10.0.628.6 dev).

From some blog I read, Google release their 1st 64bit Google Chrome Beta for Linux, (http://www.pcmech.com/article/google-chrome-64-bit-version-available-however/). Which also means that I am eligible to try out the latest Google Chrome 64 bit. Even though it is Beta/Unstable version, why not I try it out.
After some search on the internet, I found this http://www.webupd8.org/2009/08/how-to-install-64bit-chromium-google.html, where they include the link to download Google Chrome 64-bit .deb file for ubuntu (download Google Chrome 64-bit .deb: http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/eula_dev.html?dl=unstable_amd64_deb). As you know, I am very new to Ubuntu, so I guess the .deb file is an installer format for Ubuntu, similar to .exe file in Windows. Besides the page above, there are a lot of other pages that guide you on how to build a 64-bit Google Chrome from its source file, which I think is quite complicated. So, I choose the easiest one, double click on the .deb file.
For those who are using 64-bit Ubuntu like me, you can have a try on the latest 64-bit Google Chrome unstable version. Before you install the 64-bit version, make sure you remove the 32-bit version of Google Chrome, or the Ubuntu Software Center will warn that the 64-bit installation cannot be completed because there is conflicts with the older Google Chrome (32-bit).
